Following from the outstanding success of our 2025 program we would like to welcome you to our 2026 Residential program in Ubud, Bali.
Come and be inspired by learning the principles of Intensive Short Term Dynamic therapy in a relaxing and reenergising environment of Ubud in the centre of Bali.
This is a 5 days paced program that will provide you a solid introduction (and practical principles you can take into your clinical work) of this psychodynamic method and will also give you plenty of time to relax and take in the nature, reenergize and destress with massages, and scrumptious food.
ISTDP is a psychodynamic approach developed by Dr Habib Davanloo and David Malan in the 1980’s as part of a movement questioning the extensive time of psychodynamic treatment.
The 5 days are suitable for both novices and those well versed in psychodynamics. The approach uses systematic session video review, incorporating the observation of body language and meaning, making responses, to ascertain the internal conflict that the client is bringing to the session to achieve client outcomes.
It is a fascinating method that is presented with real client video sessions and the methodical observation and analysis of client responses. You will be taught the principles of video observation in ISTDP and the tools to analyse anxiety and defense mechanisms and deactivate them, when appropriate. You will have time to reflect, debrief and be inspired by this method.
This is a small group training with maximum 20 participants.
When: Monday, July 13th to Friday, July 17th 2026
8.30am to 4.00pm each day – it will give you plenty of time to relax and process your learning.

Participants will be responsible for transportation to and from Ubud, Bali and accommodation.
